Ken Warnica

In
the early 80's Ken Warnica started making craft items out of wood. These
items were sold at "In Hants Crafts" in Milford, Nova Scotia. He eventually
started doing carft shows in the Truro and Halifax area.
In 1989 he moved to Prince George B.C. and operated under
the name of "Lyndridge Crafts." It was at this time that his product line
expanded to benches, mirrors and stools with inlayed ducks and hummingbirds .
When he retired in 1997, he built a home in Greenhill, Nova
Scotia. It was at this time that the name "Tuckered Duck Wood Craft Co."
seemed appropriate as he was making items with inlayed ducks and was now
retired.
For a number of years Ken and Karen sold at the sunnyside
Mall in Bedford NS and attended Craft Shows in Moncton and Fredericton, NB and
also in Truro NS.
Over the years the product line has expanded greatly with
most items being his own design. Items are made of kiln dried local
hardwoods. There are some items made of re-claimed wood which is 150-400
years old which was recovered from a lake where the logs sank approximately 150
years ago.
Ken and Karen now spend their summers at the Pictou County
Weekend Market, on the waterfront in Pictou, NS
