AWARDS TO BE HANDED OUT IN STELLARTON Thursday 19th March 2009 The 12th Annual Pictou County Tourist Association Gala Awards Dinner will be held on 2 April at the Pictou Campus of the Nova Scotia Community College in Stellarton. Nominees for Stars of the Festivals and Events include the Sobeys Slam Womens Curling tournament, Nova Scotia Music Week and the Race on the River Dragon Boat Festival. Songstress Fleur Mainville, East Coast F-M morning host Ann MacGregor and Town of New Glasgow Special Events Coordinator Carlton Munroe are up for the Ambassador Award. Nominees for the Rising Star Award include Anchors Above Zipline Adventures, the Holiday Inn Express in Stellarton, William M. Sobey Indoor Soccer Complex and the Riverfront Farmers Market in New Glasgow. Up for the Shining Star Award are Pictou Lodge Beach front Resort, 94.1 East Coast F-M and the Pictou Lobster Carnival. Stonehame Chalets, the deCoste Center, Pictou County Weekend Market and the Braeside Inn have been nominated for the North Star Award. |
